Sustainability at the core of our operations

For us, sustainability is not just a strategy paper, it is a way to do business every day. Our products and services play important role in society enabling plant-based food, green urban environments and the health benefits gardening bring to the people globally.

To meet the evolving market needs and stakeholder expectations, we work towards our vision: Growing smarter for healthier food and greener living. To stop climate change and secure natural resources for the generations to come, we need to find ways to grow more with less – optimise growth performance, resource-efficiency and the sustainability of the entire growing value chain.

We conducted a double materiality assessment in Autumn 2024. It revealed that our stakeholders’ primary sustainability concerns are related to climate and biodiversity. They also value our positive contributions to the society. Our products support the production of healthy food in controlled environments, greener urban areas and hobby gardening brings joy and can even reduce stress levels. These results have supported us in building our sustainability roadmap for 2030.

We’ve aligned our sustainability roadmap and target setting with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) because they offer a globally recognised framework to address the most pressing challenges of our time, from climate change and biodiversity loss to food security and responsible consumption. They also help us focus our efforts where they matter most.

In addition, through our parent company, Neova, we are committed to the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative UN Global Compact. It supports us in following universal principle on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruptions and advancing them in our value chain.
