Innovation doesn’t happen overnight – and it doesn’t happen alone

Lisa Zamparo works at the very heart of growing media innovation – testing and developing new raw materials and additives that could one day improve growing performance for our customers.

In the Kekkilä-BVB research lab, together with our innovation and product management teams Lisa turns ideas into reality. Bringing a completely new material into commercial production is a long journey. It can take years of trial and iteration rounds, and only a small share of what we test ever makes it into our portfolio.

Today, carefully selected raw materials like cultivated fibers – Silphie nad reed canary grass – have successfully passed this rigorous evaluation process and are now used in production at Kekkilä-BVB. Thanks to the successful collaboration between colleagues and partners.
