The horticultural industry has been impacted by the Covid-19 in two very distinctive ways. On the one hand there has been a huge demand for growing media, when focus has been shifted to food security, healthier lifestyle and closeness with nature. On the other hand the whole value chain has been going through big changes what comes to the availability of labour, rising costs of transportation, packaging, raw materials and operational costs. Due to these recent developments price increases will be necessary.
Starting immediately, Kekkilä-BVB will start discussions with its customers to increase the prices of its growing media products and fertilisers. This enables us to ensure that growth and development plans of Kekkilä-BVB can be carried forward and that Kekkilä-BVB can answer to the increasing demand of growing media by developing sustainable products and services for the benefit of our customers.
