Collaboration is the key

We create growing media solutions to enable sustainable development. The only way to decrease our net impact is through collaboration with customers and partners in the value chain. In sustainability, there are no competitors, there are only partners with whom you can grow together for a better tomorrow.

We’re working with more than 50 collaborators throughout the value chain of growing to build joint knowledge and encourage ecosystem thinking. Our innovations contribute to sustainable solutions for food production, gardening and landscaping.

Improving our impact every year

Our sustainability roadmap is guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and our main target is to improve our net positive impact every year. This means that we want continuously contribute more to the world than we take from it.

Already a net positive company

Our roadmap guides us in being a net positive company, a company that contributes more to the world than it takes from it. The best way for us to do so is by providing safe, socially responsible, environmentally friendly and effective growing solutions.

Based on a scientific validation by The Upright Project we create more than four times the societal value an average company creates for each euro of revenue.

Life-cycle Assessment

We use a Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) to evaluate the environmental impact of the raw materials we use while optimising growing performance. Our R&D department is collaborating with knowledge institutions, suppliers and customers to find new materials that can be used for growing media. All of these materials have their own specific properties from a performance and sustainability aspect.

The LCA shows the environmental impact in several stages of the life-cycle: extraction, logistics, production, use and end-of-life. It can also provide insight into more than just one topic. It is possible to show how a certain product impacts resource scarcity, carbon footprint, water consumption, biodiversity, etc.
