RHP QUALITY CERTIFICATION
Foundation RHP is an organization for quality control of horticultural substrates in Europe, based on chain control. RHP checks raw materials and compositions of substrates according to established standards and requirements. These standards are based on chemical, physical, phytogenic and common aspects. After analyzing and approval, the substrate receives the RHP quality mark. This means that substrates with the RHP quality mark are safe, reliable and specifically fit for the purpose. Under the RHP quality mark products can be traced back to the original constituents. The independent Certification Institute ECAS checks production and files regularly to confirm that substrates are produced in conformity with the specifications and demands.
RESPONSIBLE PEAT PRODUCTION
RPP CERTIFICATION
The RPP (Responsibly Produced Peat) Principles and Criteria ensure responsible peatland management during and after peat production. The aim of RPP certification is to secure that peat for substrates is harvested from responsible sources. Peatland with high conservation value will not be selected. The aim will be rehabilitation to original natural conditions, as close as possible and practically feasible. The RPP certification scheme consist of five chapters on production and one on the Chain of Custody: Legality, Good governance, Site selection, Site preparation and peat extraction, After-use/Rehabilitation, Chain of Custody and RPP-labelling.
